Stephen S. Poloz, part of the Invotek Group advisory board, is celebrated with the North Star Award for his lasting impact on Canada’s economic leadership and public service.
On May 22, 2025, the Policy Insights Forum (PIF) hosted its prestigious North Star Award Gala Dinner at Ottawa’s historic Fairmont Château Laurier. We were thrilled—and incredibly proud—to see our own Stephen S. Poloz recognized with this year’s North Star Award, honoring his exceptional contributions to Canada’s economic policy and public leadership. The award celebrates individuals whose steady guidance and commitment have helped shape a better future for all Canadians.
The evening was more than a well-deserved tribute to Stephen’s remarkable career—it was a celebration of his enduring impact and generous spirit. Proceeds from the Gala will help launch three new internships in his name, designed to nurture rising stars in public policy, governance, and finance. Even more meaningful, these young professionals will have the opportunity to be mentored by Stephen himself. It’s a powerful way to ensure his legacy of leadership, curiosity, and care continues to inspire the next generation.
The North Star Award has become a signature moment in Canada’s policy calendar, uniting leaders from across sectors to recognize integrity, insight, and lasting influence. This year’s selection couldn’t be more fitting—Stephen’s calm, thoughtful leadership has guided Canada through uncertain times and continues to light the way forward.
PIF is a non-partisan Canadian think tank committed to addressing key policy challenges through independent research, cross-sector collaboration, and support for emerging leaders. Its work focuses on Industry Engagement, Thought Leadership, Research and Publications, and Leadership Development.
