Paul LaCroix
CEO, Invotek Group Inc.
Paul is CEO and Founding Partner with Invotek Group. With a background in Corporate Finance and Deals, Paul has structured and managed near $23B in M&A with $13.5B directly for Magna International. Co-founder of Crossover Solutions, Chair of Construction Distribution and Supply (CDS), and former Vice-Chair of AP Plasman, Paul has 30+ years of experience leading and guiding a strategic financial direction of Tier 1 Automotive Suppliers, specifically, Magna, Faurecia, and Manchester Plastics.
Paul is a Queen’s University MBA with a Valuation and Strategy certification from Harvard.
Paul was recognized by the Markham Board of Trade (Canada’s fastest-growing economic region and technical hub) as Entrepreneur of the Year for 2019.
Peter Schmied
COO and President, Invotek Group Inc.
Peter is a globally recognized authority in automotive manufacturing and an expert in building and running complex operations.
Before becoming COO and President at Invotek Group, Peter was president of a number of major business units within Magna International and was responsible for sales, production, and engineering. He also was the driving force behind a number of business turnarounds and led the successful integrations of large acquisitions in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Kerry Mannella
CFO, Invotek Group Inc.
Kerry is an operations-oriented financial professional with nearly four decades of experience in the automotive parts, aerospace, and defense industries, where his leadership skills, problem-solving ability, and business acumen have made him the trusted right hand of senior executives.
Kerry began his industrial finance career as Group Controller with the CMT Group of Magna International where he pioneered financial reporting, budgeting, and cash management systems, versions of which are still in use today.
In all, Kerry spent nearly 20 years at Magna as a controller and director of finance at the divisional, group, and corporate levels before leaving the automotive parts industry for aerospace and defense and executive finance roles at L-3 Communications Electronic Systems, Noranco, and 2Source Manufacturing. Immediately prior to joining MARA, Kerry was involved in the due diligence process for Exco Technologies’ acquisition of AFX Industries, the automotive trim components manufacturer.
Kerry graduated cum laude from the BCom program at Laurentian University and is a Certified Professional Accountant in the province of Ontario. In addition to his role as CFO of MARA Technologies, he is also the chief financial officer of sister company, Construction Distribution and Supply Company Inc.
Jeff Gary
Vice President, Operations, Invotek Group USA and General Manager, MARA Technologies USA
Jeff excels at stimulating sales and revenue growth through business transformation. A strategic thinker with extensive leadership experience, he has led a number of successful re-engagements and revitalizations. By instituting standards, discipline, and a culture of accountability, he has turned struggling businesses into examples of operational excellence — efficient; profitable; Suppliers of Choice. Before joining Invotek Group, he spearheaded a turnaround at Magna Mirror that resulted in record earnings instead of a $3M expected loss and, most recently, was the architect of a multipronged strategy at Holly Electronics that was critical to the growth of revenue from $40M to more than $500M.
Jeff is a US Air Force veteran with a Bachelor of Science (Industrial Technology) degree from Southern Illinois University and an MA (Management) from Webster University.
Dave Patterson
Vice President, Business Development, Invotek Group Inc.
A skilled collaborator, in the course of his career Dave has guided several technology companies through the processes of commercializing their products and effectively scaling production. Before joining Invotek Group as Vice President of Business Development in 2011, he worked in product design and engineering, engineering management, and account management for companies such as General Motors, Magna International, Solectron, and Flextronics.
Dave has an MBA (Finance) from the University of Detroit Mercy and a Bachelor of Science degree (Electrical Engineering, Minor in Applied Mathematics) from Colorado State University, where his studies focused on embedded control systems.
Matthew Ruscica
Vice President, Sales, Strategic Accounts, Invotek Group Inc.
Matthew has had tremendous success leading and executing Invotek’s global sales, growth, and customer relations strategies and operations. His implementation of a solution-based growth model in 2020 resulted in 500% growth in just two years, necessitating significant increases in Invotek’s manufacturing capacity in the Greater Toronto Area and the US.
He had similar success guiding MARA Technologies. With the company since its inception in 2005, he was promoted to General Manager within a year. Then, as leader of all functional groups, from production to quality assurance, he oversaw cost reductions, revenue growth, and increased profitability every year between 2006 and 2020 – 10X top-line growth.
His tenacity in securing new business and focus on forging strong relationships to maintain customer loyalty have been integral to Invotek Group’s achievements in a highly competitive industry.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Business Management and Enterprise Development) from Toronto Metropolitan (formerly Ryerson) University.
Robert Mendelsohn
Vice President, Supply Chain, Invotek Group Inc.
Robert Mendelsohn is Vice President, Supply Chain at Invotek Group with more than three decades of experience in supply chain and procurement. Over the course of his career, Robert has led global procurement teams for tier-1 and tier-2 electronics manufacturing services (EMS) providers and ran his own private procurement company as owner-operator. Robert’s strategic executive-level relationships with top-tier distributors and vendors have elevated the Invotek Group position and footprint in the competitive EMS space, while his innovative efficiency initiatives have provided a positive impact toward the company’s growth and profitability. Under Robert’s leadership, Invotek Group has expanded its global presence and established a leading procurement team.
Robert holds a BA in Industrial Relations from McGill University.
Franco Chan
Managing Director, MagMARA China
A graduate of University of Toronto (Industrial Engineering), Franco implemented award-winning distribution center automation solutions for IBM Canada before becoming the principal of Hong Kong-based Sun Kwong Plastic Industrial Company in 1991. Under his leadership, the manufacturer of household products grew to employ more than 500 workers, earned nearly US$80M in annual revenue, and successfully relocated its operations to mainland China.
Franco joined the Invotek Group in 2020. He is a licensed professional engineer in Ontario.
Jennifer Adams
Director, Operations, MARA Technologies USA
Jennifer has worked in the automotive industry for 25 years, specializing in electronics manufacturing for the last 15. A dedicated servant leader, she has led many high-performing teams to meet their quality, efficiency, and cost reduction targets. Prior to joining Invotek Group, where she successfully launched the MARA Technologies USA plant in less than a year, she managed a $150M focused factory for Magna Electronics. There she was able to take a strained customer relationship and, through extraordinary customer service, transform it into one based on integrity and trust.
Jennifer is to receive her BS (Business Management) from the University of Phoenix shortly and was a selectee of the Global Talent Leadership Program at Magna International.
Rob Bayer
Business Line Director, MARA Technologies USA
Rob is a strong results-oriented leader with a proven track record of launching programs with quality products that have been validated to meet customer specifications and requirements on-time, within budget while leading knowledgeable and disciplined teams including a lighting joint venture, cross-functional engineering teams (including ECAD, hardware, software, MCAD, mechanical, optical, systems, validation, PCBA Material Specialists, and residents), manufacturing, program management, purchasing, product line, tooling, quoting and sales. He has performed business launches in automotive stamping, automotive interiors, automotive electronics and automotive lighting. He has also supported various development programs supporting business cases, designs and validation for new product introduction of automotive electronics and lighting.
Rob has a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University.
John Ronk
Director, Engineering, MARA Technologies USA
John brings more than 30 years of successful product planning, product development, and product management experience to his role with MARA Technologies USA. He began his career as an engineer at Motorola, worked as a portfolio manager at Network Associates (McAfee) and director of product management at Panasonic, and, prior to joining MARA, was principal at Made Systems, the electronics contract manufacturer. He has a deep understanding of internet technologies and is an expert at identifying market trends and opportunities, analyzing product market performance, and preparing strategies for continued growth in market share and corporate profitability.
John earned his BSEE at California Polytechnic State University, his MSEE at the Illinois Institute of Technology, and executive certificates at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. He holds two patents related to network computing.
Scott Tordoff
Co-General Manager, MARA Technologies
Scott is a results-driven operations and quality leader with a real passion for inspiring others, shaping a business, and driving results. A professional engineer with a reputation for resourcefulness, he also enjoys challenging the status quo and initiating positive change in business operations – instituting best practices, improving efficiency, and reducing costs.
Scott has a BESc (Mechanical) from Western University and is a member of Professional Engineers Ontario. He is also a Six Sigma Green Belt certified in Lean Production.
Tom Heinemann
Co-General Manager, MARA Technologies
Tom is an extremely dedicated production and operations manager with nearly 30 years of experience in automotive and consumer goods manufacturing. Prior to joining MARA Technologies in 2022, he built and led many high-performing teams at PIA Automation and Magna International.
Tom studied Business Administration (International Business) at Seneca Polytechnic.
